DESCRIPTION

Up for sale is a Giardinelli GTR10S Bb trumpet, built for Giardinelli by Eastman and finished in silver plate.

These are really underrated horns. The GTR10 was designed very much in the Bach Strad style, and to me this is a great budget-friendly alternative for an advancing high school or college player who needs a serious trumpet without spending several thousand dollars on a new Strad.

This one is in very good condition with excellent valves and compression. It was recently professionally serviced by Kevin Stiles at Heritage Music in Kansas City, including a valve alignment.

CONDITION

Very Good condition.

The silver plate presents very well overall with normal light scratches, handling marks and signs of use.

The valves and compression are excellent, the slides work properly, and the horn was recently serviced and valve aligned by Kevin Stiles at Heritage Music.

Please look closely at all of the pictures for the exact condition.

PLAYABILITY

This horn plays much better than the Giardinelli name or price might make you think.

It has that familiar Bach Strad type of feel and, in my opinion, is a professional-quality playing and sounding instrument.

One thing I noticed is that the valve section looks almost identical to the valve section used on the Shires Q Series trumpets. Considering the Eastman connection, that’s interesting, although I can’t confirm they’re actually the same valve set.

For an advancing high school or college player looking to step up to a serious horn, I think this would be a perfect budget-friendly alternative to a Bach Strad.

WHY THIS HORN

This is simply a lot of horn for the money.

It plays and sounds like a professional-quality instrument, has excellent valves and compression, has already been serviced and valve aligned, and comes with a deluxe double trumpet case.

The GTR10S has also been discontinued and is no longer normally available new.
