DESCRIPTION

Up for sale is a Getzen 800DLX Eterna Deluxe Bb cornet, serial #G70099, in absolutely beautiful Mint condition.

This is Getzen’s top Eterna Deluxe cornet and was introduced as part of the Eterna Deluxe line for Getzen’s 80th anniversary. It’s an American-style professional cornet with some really nice features, including a large .462 bore, sterling silver leadpipe, rose brass bell and solid bronze valve section. 

This particular horn is about as clean as they come and has a beautiful combination of different metals and finishes that really makes it stand out.

CONDITION

Mint

This cornet is exceptionally clean and really doesn’t look like it has seen much use.

The finish is beautiful, the engraving is sharp and clean, the valves and slides are excellent, and I don’t see any dents or damage worth mentioning.

The different metals used throughout the horn give it a really unique appearance, especially the rose brass bell, sterling silver leadpipe and bronze valve section.

PLAYABILITY

The 800DLX was designed to give you the warmth and roundness you expect from an American-style cornet without limiting it to one type of playing.

The combination of the .462 large bore, rose brass bell and sterling silver leadpipe gives this horn a really interesting balance. Getzen specifically developed the rose brass bell to soften some of the edge of the sterling silver leadpipe while still keeping the response and dynamics they wanted. 

This would be equally at home in a concert band, brass band, jazz setting or as a solo cornet.

WHY THIS HORN

The 800DLX isn’t just a dressed-up version of the regular 800 Eterna.

Getzen gave the Deluxe its own .462 bore, sterling silver leadpipe, rose brass bell, bronze valve section and Art Deco engraving, along with one of the nicest factory cases I’ve seen included with a cornet. 

If you’ve been looking for a professional American-made cornet but want something a little different from the usual Bach or Yamaha, this is a really beautiful option.

And finding one this clean certainly doesn’t hurt.

The case is really nice in its own right, with the vintage-inspired design, brass hardware and fitted burgundy interior specifically made for the 800DLX.
