Vintage 1958 Gibson ES-125t (Tenor!)

This incredibly cool 125 was made, likely via a custom order, during the heart of the "magic years" of American guitar craftsmanship, by the same hands in the same years as so many legendary Gibson guitars of this time. Gibson would, in vary rare instances, make "Tenor" versions of their standard production run guitars. We have seen Tenor versions of the Les Paul Special, SG Standard and others. This is the first ES-125 we have seen as a tenor guitar. This model makes sense as so much great tenor guitar music was made in the jazz and blues idiom by players such as Tiny Grimes and Eddie Lang. The Tenor guitar is still used in many New Orleans style Trad-Jazz bands as well. Finding vintage examples of these instruments is next to impossible, so don't delay if you've been looking for one!

The tone woods used in Kalamazoo during this period are unmatched in terms of tone and resonance.  This is all thanks to 60 year old honduran mahogany and the vintage rosewood board and old growth Michigan maple body.
