For sale is an excellent condition early 1960s Silvertone 1482 15w combo guitar amplifier. The amp is in excellent cosmetic condition, having just slight finish wear from decades of general light use. The amp is in perfect functioning condition, having been recently tested thoroughly. Selling as I just don’t fire this amp up enough anymore to justify the space it takes up in the collection.
These old Silvertone’s have a fun history being manufactured by Danelectro for Sears and sold through their catalogs from 1963 through the late 1960s.

This amp features two 6V6GT power tubes, two 12AX7 preamp/phase inverter tubes, a 6AU6 tremolo tube, and a 6X4 tube rectifier. Two instrument inputs and one microphone input, with separate volume and tone controls, plus a foot-switchable tube-driven tremolo effect. Includes footswitch for tremolo, and has original speaker!
Sonically speaking, the 1482 known for a warm, mid-heavy, tone with noticeably less high-frequency/treble than its contemporaries. It stays relatively clean at low-to-medium volumes (up to about halfway), but pushes into a raunchy, raw, and warm overdriven tone as you turn the volume up past four or five. The onboard tube-driven tremolo offers a deep, swampy, and distinctively funky pulse with significant depth.
