Unknown Maker MIJ SG-Type Bass - 1970s Cool!!

This very cool, lightweight (approx. 7lb 3oz) SG-type lawsuit-era bass just came in on consignment - a little TLC and it'll be ready to rock! We're thinking maybe a Greco, but there's no identification we can find on the instrument. The "mudbucker" style pickup (actually a single coil!) has no discernible signal (see pics), so it was removed and the guitar wired with the bridge pickup only, bypassing the switch (see pics). The pots, etc. look original. The bass is currently strung with an older set of flat wound strings (30" scale length). There seems to be a good amount of life left in the frets. The finish is in very good condition, and the chrome is all nice and shiny. We would recommend getting the original pickup rewound to preserve the instrument's character. The hardshell case is very scratched on the outside, but in serviceable shape. And, there's even a period-correct Ace guitar strap included! (However, the bass will not fit in the case with the strap knob screwed in - just saying...). The strap knob is included in a bag in the case, along with the front pickup. The bass will be carefully packed and shipped free anywhere in the continental US.
