Slingerland Vintage 1970s Slingerland Niles Concert Tom Shell Pack + Late-'60s Aluminum Snare – Project Early 70s - White
Vintage Slingerland drums, Niles, Illinois badges.
- Toms/bass: silver-and-black oval Niles badge, 5-digit serial (61574), which dates them to about 1970–72. The toms are factory single-headed concert toms (no bottom lugs).
- Snare: ribbed aluminum shell, black-and-gold oval Niles badge, 6-digit serial, which dates it to the late 1960s.
Shells I believe are original finish, but appear to have been touched up in places with lugs and chrome hoops included. Black hoop is non original, but is included in case you want reso head on there, as I did. A good project for a restorer, or for someone who wants a real vintage Slingerland kit to finish their way.
Note that the snare rim is slightly deformed at the seam, and the bearing edges are not perfect, but overall quite usable and I was still able to make decent recordings with the kit, eg:
Sizes i believe are 12,13,16 toms, 14 snare and 20 kick but i need to double check, they are currently in storage
