For sale is a TASCAM 32 10.5 inch 2 track 2 channel stereo Reel to Reel tape deck recorder. It is in good to very good condition albeit with some scuffs and marks, nicks and dings as shown. Refer to pics. a new drive belt, and pinch roller tire was installed. It has been tested, serviced, calibrated and the heads were cleaned and demagnetized for the best sound ever. The mic inputs were tested and they work as well as the other inputs. The pots and switches were sprayed and the metal parts were lubed as well. Both channels are clear and superb sounding as well. The belts and caps were checked and they’re good. All the functions work and the VU Meters light up and jump like they are supposed to. The tape heads do contain some moderate headwear, but it does not affect the sound quality in any way shape or form! I’m putting this out there because getting good pictures of the tape heads without them looking worse than they really are is in increasingly difficult due to the weather changes. The sound when recording at 7 1/2 IPS is very clear and better and wider sounding than the Source recording from, depending on the type of tape used and better at 15 IPS . Pictured  reels and hubs are for demonstration purposes only and are NOT INCLUDED! You may purchase the hub adapters separately for $85!

Most of these units are decades old and will inevitably have headwear, although not enough to affect the sound quality. If that were the case, I would replace the tape heads before listing the deck, and include the old heads for reference.

I’m not going to sugarcoat this:

I am sick and tired of my listings being treated like free entertainment! This is how I make a living, how I’m able to pay the bills, how I am able to offer more of these great units for the generations to come.

Unfortunately, I can’t do any of that if people keep adding this to their watchlist or shopping cart, but either have no intention of making a purchase, or make zero effort to use the ”make an offer” button and negotiate on a price we can both agree on!

This is not about being a jerk. It’s not about being salty and it’s not about being desperate. It is about the basic awareness and consideration of someone trying to make an honest and decent living who should not have their time treated like it’s a disposable commodity just because one or more people who add these items to their watchlist or shopping cart are bored or they are ”just curious” if something will sell.

There’s a fine line between informed purchase decision making and blatant disregard and disrespect for someone else’s time. Unfortunately, I feel like that line has been crossed repeatedly.

I have always been willing to able to assist someone in anyway that I can and go to great lengths to assure everyone is dealing with an honest and reputable seller including filming videos Of these units an operation, extensive testing to ensure my restoration work holds up And fixing any last minute bugs before shipment .

Unfortunately, Many people have mistakened my fairness for Desperation, and they have mistakened my kindness and professionalism for weakness.

It is both infuriating and disheartening that in today’s society there are people with that much time and that little going on in their lives And It really is exhausting dealing with those who play games and waste time.

I’ve tried to be nice to people and work out something we can both agree on pricewise. i’ve tried to give benefit of the doubt. Ive tried to assume there was at least one person out of those window shoppers that was willing to work something out with me. There wasn’t.

As a result, I’d remove and repost listings as my way of saying I don’t appreciate having my time wasted.

I do not offer repair services to the public because of how complex it is to repair these units and the fact that I do not have the room to take in other people’s units. I’m putting this out there because I’ve been repeatedly asked that question.

I genuinely appreciate the admiration of my listings, but They are for people ready to move forward with making a purchase.

Once again, if you want to negotiate on the price, That is what the “make an offer” button is for—PLEASE USE IT!!! The worst I can say is NO.

If the price is too expensive or you just feel like it’s not in your budget, PLEASE RESPECTFULLY PASS ON THIS LISTING!

I honestly hate putting this out there because of the risk of offending potential customers and driving good and decent ones away, but somehow or another I have to send a clear message that this behavior is unacceptable.

If this offends you in anyway and you don’t want to do business with me, that’s fine. There’s plenty of people who understand where I’m coming from and understand that time is a precious commodity that you can never get back And my years of experience and the fact that I’m just trying to make an honest living, grow and expand, and those are the kind of customers I’d rather have.

I have almost 22 years of experience and knowledge and restoring these units and that has value. I will continue enforcing my boundaries, I will not lower my standards and I will not sell myself short to make entitled and insecure people feel better!
