If you're here, you probably already know what this is. Gibson's only Japanese artist collaboration on the ES-355. 150 made, sold out in Japan before it ever hit the wider market. The kind of guitar people search for by number, not by model name.
Still — a few things worth putting on record, since not every detail makes it into the usual write-ups: this is #15 of 150, which places it inside the first batch — the only run that shipped with Ubukata's own hand-signed COA. Bound diamond f-holes, mono Varitone paired with a Bigsby, dark rosewood board — and cool, understated nickel hardware throughout, a deliberate break from the gold you'd expect on a top-of-the-line 355. A spec combination Gibson has never repeated on any other 355. Built during Memphis's final and most refined years, before the factory closed for good in 2019.
This carries the lowest serial number of any Ubukata ES-355 that's ever surfaced on Reverb.
If you're chasing this one specifically, you already know why. This won't come around often.
