One-owner, all-original example of one of the rarest Fender John Mayer Signature Stratocasters produced.
Purchased new by me and owned by me since new, this is a 2005 Fender John Mayer Signature Stratocaster in Charcoal Frost Metallic with Inca Silver competition stripes. Only 100 examples were produced in this finish.
The guitar remains completely original, including its original Fender Big Dipper pickups, electronics, hardware and finish, and includes its original Fender/Incase gig bag. It has never been modified, refinished or repaired.
The guitar is in very good condition, particularly considering its age, and has been carefully owned for more than 20 years. Please see the detailed photographs for exact cosmetic condition.
With only 100 originally produced—and considerably fewer likely remaining completely original with their original bags—this is a particularly difficult version of the discontinued Mayer Stratocaster to find.
The guitar features the original set of highly sought-after Fender Big Dipper single-coil pickups, which were specifically voiced for John Mayer with a scooped midrange response. Other factory specifications include a select alder body, maple neck with a substantial C-shaped profile, African rosewood fingerboard, 9.5" radius, 21 Dunlop 6105 frets, Fender/Gotoh vintage-style tuners, and an American Vintage synchronized tremolo.
This example is in very good overall condition with normal light signs of use consistent with its age. The finish presents beautifully, particularly for a guitar that is now more than 20 years old. Please review the photos closely for the exact cosmetic condition.
