I am selling my stunning Pelham Blue Gibson Midtown Standard in absolutely excellent condition. Say that back to yourself one time in a slow and low Sam Elliot voice! lol It’s the best color there is for any Gibson in my opinion. And this one does not disappoint. It’s the perfect shade of deep, Pelham blue. Some of the photos looking lighter in my bedroom are under tungsten light but it’s a deeper medium blue, a perfect example of what Pelham blue should look like. I have included photos in daylight as well to show you the different tones
If you don’t know, these are incredible sleeper guitars that are technically semi-hollow body but constructed more as a full hollow body in actuality. The body is smaller than an ES and substantially light at barely 7.4 pounds! Made incredibly well during the best era for Gibson.
Some folks love to say yeah, but they were only 13 to 1400 new. Well in an economy 11 years ago, the LP standard was only $15-$1800 and The ES full-size was still under 2000 for a standard model. So all things being equal, they are an astonishing value in today’s money in the $1500-2000 range for what you actually get
Beautiful craftsmanship, superb binding. Excellent action and no issues whatsoever. The case is an equally excellent condition. With all the original case candy, hardware, baby photo and manual. I would list it almost as mint except for a couple of the smallest dings ever the size of a grain of pepper. And one of the tiniest chips in the paint on the back of the heel where the neck meets the body as shown in the two photos. Hard to see, very tiny. Just trying to disclose everything
The picture showing the left of the front of the headstock is not dings, but rather just the reflection of the extremely shiny chrome Grover tuners.
All original Gibson pickups, electronics and everything. Plays perfectl, Intonates well and currently strung with EB slinky tens and ready to go. Most of the ones that sell for 14 to 1600 have plenty of wear and this one has almost none at all. Come get your astonishing value!
