The Broadcast AP-II is a dual preamplifier pedal designed with guitarist Ariel Posen. It houses two independent, differently voiced preamplifier circuits, each adding its own colour. The first is fitted with a silicon transistor and transformer, bringing the smooth, darker tone of the original Broadcast-AP. The second drops the transformer and swaps silicon for germanium, giving a brighter, more aggressive voice. Each has a large gain range, and cascading one into the other opens further options, from subtle boost through to heavily distorted sounds.

A send/return loop sits between the two sections, so other pedals can be placed between the preamplifiers or each preamplifier can live at a different point in the chain. With nothing plugged in, the signal routes internally from silicon into germanium.
