Mini Hand-Built clone BC108 Fuzz Sunface Powder coated white with 2k satin clear coat

This is a hand-built PedalPCB Sandspur, based on the classic Analogman Sun Face BC108 circuit. It's a compact, no-nonsense silicon fuzz with a huge personality—and this particular build came out exceptionally sharp. Analogman does not make this circuit in a mini, but we do!

The enclosure is a white powder-coated 1590A finished with a custom decal and 2K satin clear coat. The combination of the white finish, red graphics, and contrasting aluminum knobs looks stunning in person. Photos really don't do the finish justice.

About the Circuit

The BC108 version of the Fuzz Face is one of the classic silicon fuzz sounds. Compared with the softer, more temperamental character associated with many germanium Fuzz Faces, the BC108 silicon circuit has a more immediate attack, greater consistency, and a slightly more aggressive character while retaining the wonderfully interactive feel that makes the Fuzz Face topology so addictive.

Note: there are three controls visible and inside the pedal there are two internal trimmers to dial in your tone.

This isn't a sterile, one-dimensional distortion box. The fun is in how much the circuit responds to your guitar and your hands.

With the guitar volume opened up, it delivers that unmistakable thick, sustaining Fuzz Face character—fat low end, pronounced upper harmonics, and a singing, compressed sustain. Dig into the strings and it gets aggressive and chewy.

Roll the guitar volume back and the fuzz can clean up dramatically, moving from saturated fuzz toward a gritty, edge-of-breakup sound while retaining the character of the circuit. Picking dynamics also have a noticeable effect, making it a particularly expressive fuzz for players who work their guitar's volume and tone controls.

It's equally comfortable producing warm, woolly rhythm fuzz, gritty blues-rock textures, soaring lead sustain, or full-on saturated vintage fuzz.

A Few Words on the Build

This one was built with the details in mind. The Lumberg DC jack, enclosed side jacks, low-profile footswitch, breakout board, direct-board-mounted LED, and compact 1590A layout keep everything tidy while maintaining the small footprint.

And again, the white powder coat with the satin 2K clear looks fantastic under normal lighting. The finish has a depth and quality that is difficult to capture in a photograph.
