Here is a 2004 Gibson SG Standard in cherry red. This one has had a vintage style "Lyre" tremelo added for an early 60's / Angus Young look. The tailpiece is possibly a non-Gibson made part as the logo and lyre decoration on it look more laser etched than engraved, but I really don't know. The bridge may be a replacement as well, but the other parts are all original. The tremelo is mounted by four small screws on the bottom edge (no extra holes in the top) so it could be easily removed and a stop tailpiece installed. The guitar is in pretty good shape to be 22 years old. There are a few small scuffs here and there and normal light swirls and pick marks in the clear lacquer. There are a couple of slightly deeper (but still fairly shallow) lacquer scratches on the back of the neck around the second to fifth fret areas. You should be able to see them in the close up photos (the larger white spots you see are just reflections in the glossy finish, not damage). The wood on this one has very attractive grain, and from what I have read online mahogany Gibsons from this era are known for being of better quality. The guitar plays and sounds great. The neck is straight with comfortable action and the frets are in fine shape. Everything works as it should and it plays/sounds great. It will come with the non-original hardshell case you see in the photos. If you have been looking for a unique SG this could be the one for you.
