PAIR Crown Realistic PZM Pressure Zone Microphone w/XLR Connectors

For sale here is a pair of Realistic PZM mics. These were manufactured by Crown in the 1990’s. They have been modified with XLR connectors, and their output is balanced, for easy connection to your pro equipment.

These are unusual mics in that they have a uniform hemispherical pickup pattern. They are great for many applications, e.g. table-top, for conferences; podium, for speeches and houses of worship. Due to their low profile, they rarely attract attention.

They are also a secret tool in the recording studio, allowing placement in unusual locations - they can be taped to surfaces, such as the underside of a piano lid, or inside a speaker box, or onto a wall. They can also be affixed to plexiglas or wood panels and flown; the size of the panel determines the low frequency cutoff in their response.

They have condenser elements, and can be powered by an AA battery. You can upgrade them by instead installing a pair of 4LR44 / 476A / PX28A / A544 6V batteries in them, which is what these have inside. The higher voltage will improve their SPL handling and dynamic response. These batteries are easily available at Amazon and other retailers.

These have been tested and work well.
