1998 Gibson CL-35 Deluxe Cutaway Acoustic-Electric – Natural – Hardshell Case

Beautiful 1998 Gibson CL-35 Deluxe Cutaway acoustic-electric guitar, made in Bozeman, Montana, USA.

The CL-35 Deluxe is a distinctive Gibson acoustic from the late 1990s, combining a solid spruce top with beautiful solid bubinga back and sides, a Venetian cutaway, ornate abalone appointments, gold hardware, and factory electronics.

This example has been exceptionally well cared for and presents beautifully for its age. The highly figured bubinga back and sides are particularly striking, and the gloss Natural finish shows them off extremely well.

The guitar features a mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard and bridge, distinctive abalone floret fingerboard and headstock inlays, decorative soundhole rosette, Gibson moustache-style bridge, and gold tuning machines.

Factory Fishman electronics with an undersaddle piezo pickup make it ready for amplified performance while retaining the appearance of a traditional Gibson acoustic.

This was a relatively short-lived Gibson Montana model. Period references describe the CL-35 as the cutaway version of the CL-30 Deluxe, with a solid spruce top, solid African bubinga back and sides, mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard and bridge, abalone floret inlays, gold tuners and a factory-installed transducer pickup.

Condition:

Excellent condition, especially impressive for a guitar from 1998. The guitar has been exceptionally well cared for and presents beautifully. The gloss finish remains clean and vibrant, and the top, back, sides, binding, neck, headstock and hardware all appear very well preserved.

No major cosmetic damage is visible in the photos. As with any vintage/older instrument, minor signs of normal handling or age may be present upon close inspection.
