Handwired USA-built 100-watt all-tube head. No-compromise recreation of classic late-60s British Super Lead tone, from punchy cleans to Variac-style high-gain overdrive. Responds to guitar volume. Custom Plexi-style output transformer.
Specs • 100 watts RMS • Tubes: 4 x EL34 + 3 x 12AX7 • Handwired construction • 4 inputs (Channel I bright high/low, Channel II normal/bass high/low) — jumper channels for blended tones • Front: Presence, Bass, Middle, Treble, Volume I, Volume II • Power switch: Off / Hi / Low (Variac-style — drops voltage for spongier attack and smoother compression) • Rear master volume (transparent — full grind at usable volume) • 2 speaker outs + 4 / 8 / 16 ohm selector • Fixed bias with Hi/Low settings • Approx. 29-1/8" W x 11-5/8" H x 8-1/4" D, ~47 lbs (Mk II figures; original similar) • Made in USA
Classic Plexi authority with modern control. Hi for tight headroom, Low for the brown Variac feel.
I had one of the MK 2 heads too and liked this way better. The 100 watt models are the way to go. Best sounding and responsive amp I have ever owned, Very Special and low hours on this one. Its a beast, but sounds excellent at low volumes as well.
