Vintage Original 1984 Fender D'aquisto "Elite" Archtop guitar

The single pickup Elite was produced in limited quantities in a single run in 1984, then reissued from 1989 to 1994 only. The deluxe Elite version features a solid ebony fingerboard, single neck pickup, and gold hardware. The Elite is the most highly prized by jazz players, and the hardest to find. This example is from the original series, and features the two point bound ebony pickguard, and Jimmy's specially designed Schaller pickup, found on this debut year only. With dimensions similar to the ES-175, the 16" body is comfortable to hold, with a sleek 2 3/4" body depth, and the 24 3/4" scale makes fast runs and stretch chords fall more easily under the hand. The laminated construction resists feedback at higher volumes and assists sustain as well.

This example is in very fine shape throughout. Lovingly maintained since new, it includes the original case as well as all of the original case "candy" (Manual, Warranty Card, Inspection Tag, Truss rod Tool and Case Key).

The neck is straight and true and the truss rod turns perfectly.   There are no cracks, breaks or repairs. The original frets show very mild wear. There is some slight buzzing on the high E string only, suggesting a fret level or crown might be in order in the near future.

This was Jimmy D'aquisto's gift to the working jazz guitarist!
Late in his life, he partnered with the Fender "Master" division to create these beauties and based this model off the ES-175 and the D'aquisto Jim Hall played.
These have become legendary jazz boxes...long out of production and made to exacting standards
This particular example has a very loud, open acoustic voice which translates perfectly through the balanced original pickup. Full of clarity, perfect for chord melody playing or bebop runs alike.
