Overview: This is the classic student guitar of the '50s and '60s -- the venerable H929 model. This one came to us with a replacement pin-bridge fit instead of the tailpiece that these usually have. It was also missing its pickguard and was badly in need of some other help as well.

Still, post-repairs it's turned into a little sweetheart -- mellow and midsy and perfectly suited to fingerpicking or light strumming on the couch. These get warmer with pin-bridge load setups like this but they're also a little quieter than when fit with a tailpiece-style setup.

Repairs included: Ancel fit a new bone saddle, leveled and dressed the frets, fussed with the fretboard extension (it had a previous neck reset done that left the board in a hump in the 13-15 fret area, so that needed to be shaved and touched-up), fit a new pickguard, cleaned it up, and set it up. It's playing spot-on and ready to go.

Condition notes: It's got a replacement bridge, saddle, and pickguard but is otherwise original. There's a repaired hairline crack on the back (near the neckblock area). There are scuffs, scratches, nicks, and dings throughout the finish. The fretboard's finish/paint in the 13-16 fret area has been recolored as it had to be shaved (and was thus bright maple-looking stuff when altered).
