EL JEFE GUITARS — ARTIST SERIES
WIDOW’S REVENGE
The second installment in the Widow Series
The Widow is back.
Widow’s Revenge is the second installment in the EL Jefe Guitars Widow Series—a limited-production Artist Series build created in our Custom Shop in the rural swamps of Southwest Florida.
The centerpiece is the body. Rather than applying a printed graphic or decal, the skull, roses and skeletal imagery are burned by hand directly into the wood and individually painted by the artist. The wood itself becomes the canvas, with the grain, burn marks and hand-worked details remaining visible throughout the artwork. No two examples can be exactly alike.
The dark, distressed body provides the backdrop for a sprawling composition of death and beauty: a weathered skull surrounded by deep red roses, skeletal forms and twisting organic details. It has the character of an old tattoo, a piece of outlaw art and a well-traveled instrument all at once.
And Widow’s Revenge was built to be played.
The traditional double-cutaway platform is paired with a 25.5” scale roasted Canadian maple neck and maple fingerboard, 22 frets and a 9.5” fingerboard radius. The natural amber color of the roasted maple provides a striking contrast against the dark body and black hardware.
Electronics use an H-S-H configuration, giving the guitar the power and thickness of dual-coil pickups at the bridge and neck while retaining the clarity and bite of a single-coil in the middle position. A five-way selector and three-control layout provide a broad range of usable sounds.
Down below, the black hardware is broken up by one deliberate flash of metal: a solid-brass tremolo system with a 36mm brass block. The substantial brass block adds mass to the bridge assembly while giving Widow’s Revenge its distinctive aged-gold visual centerpiece.
Up top, Grover Mini tuners complete the hardware package.
Every Widow’s Revenge includes a hard case, EL Jefe Certificate of Authenticity and supporting documentation. The artist documentation is individually signed by the artist.
This isn’t a graphic guitar made to look like artwork.
It is the artwork.
Built in limited quantities. Hand finished. Individually documented.
