Vintage Sansui 771 Stereo Receiver PERFECT TEN!!! None Nicer!!!

This is hard…normally, something this nice gets put into my personal collection, but my personal collection is getting kinda out of hand, so I’m offering this museum quality Sansui 771 here for sale!

I don’t know how many hours this receiver has on it, but I do know that number is very, very low. Couple of telltale signs…look at the clear plastic surrounding the AM ferrite bar’s wires coming out of the back. Normally, these get pretty chock full of dust and dirt…you can clean them to a degree, but the dirt still shows…this one is pristine! Also, look at the top off picture that shows the inside front. The big white plastic piece is the dial lamp housing. Because of incandescent lamps, (which I replaced with LED’s), these housings get very hot…normal circumstances, and the housing turns brown, sometimes even melts from the heat! This one is perfect…it’s still white!!!

Really, let the pictures tell the rest of the story…everything about this unit screams heirloom! This is one that can be handled down, generation after generation!

I pulled the top off and sprayed the pots for clean, noiseless operation…I also lubricated the tuning system, and as previously mentioned, changed the dial and meter lamps to warm white LEDs. I tested all the inputs and all functions checked out great…this one has an especially hot tuner…in FM, the “stereo” lamp stays lit, and the meter stays above 1.5! Concerned at first, I disconnected the antenna, and the meter zeroed, and the stereo lamp went out…but it still pulled in numerous stations!!!
