This guitar made its debut with maker Saul Koll at the 2018 Holy Grail Guitar Show (see the youtube link below). The core philosophy with the Super Cub was to take the raw, "warts-and-all" fun and playability of a cheap student guitar from the '60s and rebuild it into an immaculately crafted, high-performance boutique instrument.
It’s a wonderful playing and sounding guitar, with its Curtis Novack pickups and Mastery bridge and tremolo. It is one of the lightest weight solid-body guitars I have ever held at right around 6 lbs. The thin, contoured body, along with its shorter scale length add to the playing enjoyment. Imperfections: there is one small finish ding on the front, one on the back, and a handful on the treble side of the body. See the last 3 photos for details. It's got some unique features, like the aluminum pick guard and the custom knobs (which are modeled from vintage radio knobs). And check out the figure in that maple neck! Purchase this, and it's very likely you will have the coolest guitar in the house.
