Vintage Akai GX-4000D reel-to-reel tape recorder in good overall condition for its age.

The unit has been serviced and tested. Basic transport functions were checked and the machine was operating during testing. The tape path/head area has also been inspected and cleaned as part of the service.

The front panel presents well overall. The VU meters illuminate properly, and the controls, switches and transport mechanism are shown clearly in the photos.

Cosmetic Condition:
This is a vintage unit and shows normal age-related wear, including scratches, scuffs and marks.

IMPORTANT: There is noticeable damage/chipping to the wooden cabinet, especially around the lower front corners / edges, as clearly shown in the close-up photos. This damage is specifically disclosed and should be carefully reviewed before purchase.

Because this is an approximately 50-year-old vintage machine, no claim is being made that every specification meets original factory calibration. Depending on the buyer’s intended use, additional professional adjustment, calibration or future maintenance may be desirable.
