Description
Used Bass Bow made by Horst Schiker in Germany, Pernambuco Wood, Solid Silver Mountings
Excellent Bass Bow by the Horst Schiker workshop in Germany made approximately in 1995. This beautiful bow is made of pernambuco wood and the mountings are solid silver (not German silver, not nickel-silver.) The winding is original and also made of solid silver (not nickel-silver) and the natural tip is original. This bow has an octagonal stick (not round) and in our opinion is a 10/10 condition; no knots, no curves, very straight. Never has been school owned!
The length of this bow from the end of the screw button to the tip is 690mm and the weight is 142 grams. The hair is about 10 years old and does not need to be rehaired.
The bow includes a solid single case that is labeled as "made in Korea."
According to what we have learned the Schicker workshop is still active in Germany making high quality violin, viola, cello and bass bows.
Happy to send this bow on a 5-day approval!
