PSP auralComp Multi-Channel Surround and Immersive Compressor (Card)

PSP auralComp is a multi-channel compressor and limiter built from the ground up for surround and immersive audio. That is the point of it: most compressors were designed for stereo and have surround bolted on afterwards. This one was designed the other way round.

It handles channel layouts from stereo up through 5.1, 7.1 and immersive formats, with a channel setup panel and quick select buttons so you can group fronts, surrounds or all channels and work on them together rather than one at a time.

Version 2 added four compression types: Opto, which is the default, plus FET, VCA and a fourth character, so the same plug-in covers gentle programme-dependent levelling and fast peak control without swapping tools.

There is per-channel threshold, attack, release, ratio, make up and mix, a side chain section, brickwall limiting and a ceiling control, plus Mid/Side working and LFE handling. It is a Ronald Prent signature plug-in, developed with the immersive mix engineer whose name is on it.

It runs in Pro Tools, Logic and any AAX, Audio Units or VST3 host, on Windows and on Mac with both Intel and Apple silicon supported.
