For over three decades, the Nobels ODR-1 overdrive has earned its place as a cornerstone of countless pro rigs, revered for its unique FET-driven analogue tone utilising both soft- and hard-clipping diodes for a sound with exceptional versatility.
Now, the ODR-1X builds upon this legacy. Responding to feedback from players seeking even greater tonal sculpting options, the ODR-1X offers several refinements that enhance its responsiveness and dynamic range, while remaining true to the character of the original.
What's the difference between the Nobels ODR-1 & ODR-1X?The ODR-1X retains the core character of the original ODR-1 - known for its open, natural sound with low-end presence - while expanding its potential with several quality-of-life changes:
Bass-cut
As seen on the gold 30th Anniversary ODR-1 version, the bass-cut mini-pot returns on the ODR-1X, allowing you to shape the low-end response to complement your instrument and amp setup. Used in conjunction with the Spectrum control, you can really dial in your sound.
Gain boost
The gain-boost push-button triggers a powerful high-gain drive, giving you more versatility than ever before.
There is even the ability to switch the pedal on and off and control the new Gain boost feature remotely, via the pedal’s TRS connection.
True bypass/ Buffered bypass switch
Located within the top-loading battery compartment, this mini-switch allows you to select between two bypass modes. True bypass gives maximum tonal purity, while players who are using longer cable runs can switch to buffered bypass mode to preserve high frequencies.
