Up for sale we have a 1980 Kramer XKB-20 4-String Electric Bass in Natural finish with modern hardshell case.
A distinctive and increasingly collectible example of early Kramer engineering, this 1980 Kramer XKB-20 represents one of the most interesting bass designs to emerge from the company’s pioneering aluminum-neck period. Produced for only a very short time, the XKB-20 combines a streamlined, solid-body design with Kramer’s signature aluminum neck construction and a powerful DiMarzio split-coil P-style pickup.
This particular example is all-original to the best of our knowledge, in excellent lightly used condition and perfect working order. The body shows light cosmetic wear with small dings and surface scuffs/scratches scattered throughout as well as a bit of forearm wear just on the edge of the bass side lower bout. The neck is in great shape as well with some light scratches down the length of the backside, mostly visible just on the metal areas. The non-adjustable neck (no truss rod) has just a touch of relief and plays great. The original medium jumbo frets are present and show minimal play wear with lots of life left. Overall a well cared for instrument, set-up with 45-105 round wound strings and ready to go.
