Whirlwind Director Passive Direct Box

A workhorse studio and stage DI from Whirlwind, built in the USA and trusted by touring and recording engineers for its clean, transparent transformer-based conversion. The Director takes a line, instrument, or speaker-level signal and converts it to a low-impedance balanced mic-level output via XLR — no batteries or external power required.

Features include a 1/4" parallel input/output for daisy-chaining to an amp or monitor, a Ground Lift switch to kill hum and buzz, a 30dB pad for handling hot speaker-level signals, and a switchable low-pass filter to tame amp noise. Housed in Whirlwind's rugged cast-metal enclosure that's built to survive years of road and studio use.

Shows light cosmetic wear consistent with normal use (some fading on the front logo/label), but functions exactly as intended. A great step up from entry-level DI boxes for anyone who wants pro-grade transparency.
