Yes, someone changed the grill to one like an SM58 or Unisphere, and it doesn't look the greatest with the glue job ... BUT ...
This mic sounds amazing!
I was blown away when I tested this mic. And sure enough when I looked it up, I guess it's the predecessor to the SM7, although I don't have one to compare it to.
Would be great, I'm sure, on vocals, snare, guitar, percussion...
It appears the foam was removed from inside the grill, so better for higher frequency capturing, and this mic indeed has a nice high end clarity to it.
