Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.
You are looking at a unique older 1970's era AKG model D200E model dynamic cardioid microphone with very great sound characteristics set at 200 OHMS (Low Z) and it comes with an original mic clip and mic case in which to store. This mic is an all metal design that is rugged and has a strong mid century vibe.
I have to be honest that I don't have a lot of experience with this model of mic. It has one of the more unique tones on a Low Z mic that I have heard and I've only ever come a cross a few of these.
Pic # 2 is from an old data sheet I have that shows a lot of the mic characteristics, Please refer to that for more info on the D200E. I can say that the mic works like new and one of the cleanest examples you'll find.
The serial number on the side of the grills bezel is 26632.
I'm not sure how many years AKG actually sold the mic but it seems to have been around 10 to 15 years starting in the 1970's. It was the same era as the D1000E and D190E. The mic is a bit larger though it's very lite weight. 7 1/4 inches long X 1 1/2 inches wide at the front grill.
It's uni-directional in nature and the signal strength is quite strong.
As you can see there is just very lite signs of wear on the champagne gold finish of this mic in the form of very subtle scratches that are hard to see even up close. The front screen has zero indentations, odors or tarnish. The original foam is still inside the globe and looks great. The AKG label is perfect and completely legible. The XLR pins were cleaned as well ensuring a perfect signal once a cable is attached. Please let the detailed photos be your guide.
Overall I would rate this mic a conservative 8 + on a scale of 1 - 10 in the cosmetic department.
The mic comes with a beautiful original black plastic mic clip that works very well for this mic and will screw onto any mic stand you have. It gives a wide range of tilt as well.
The original black vinyl mic case is included. The case shows very lite signs of wear but the inner foam padding is still in excellent shape keep the mic safe and snug. The locking mechanism works great as well. You'll just need a cable to operate the mic.
I actually have two of these D200E's available for sale if you need more than one.
MICROPHONE STAND SHOWN IS NOT PART OF THIS SALE...FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY.
If you want a classic AKG mic with superb sound then this will do you justice.
