Boss HM-2 Heavy Metal – Made in Taiwan – Early 1988
Original vintage Boss HM-2 Heavy Metal distortion pedal, Made in Taiwan. This is an early Taiwanese example from 1988, serial 032000, dating from the first period of Taiwan production immediately after manufacture moved from Japan.
These early MIT HM-2s are particularly interesting because they retain essentially the same classic HM-2 circuit as the late Japanese-made pedals, rather than being a later redesign. You get the unmistakable original HM-2 sound.
This example is in very good vintage condition with only light cosmetic wear for its age. Original orange/black finish presents particularly well, and the rear label clearly states Made in Taiwan.
A great example for anyone wanting an original vintage HM-2 without paying the premium attached to the Japanese version, and a nice collectible in its own right due to its early production date and first-generation Taiwanese circuit.
