Arturia’s DrumBrute is a seriously fun analog drum machine built around 17 fully analog drum and percussion instruments, with a hands-on interface that makes sound design and sequencing incredibly immediate.

You’ve got two different kicks, snare, clap, two hi-hats, high and low toms, high and low congas, rim, claves, maracas, tambourine, cymbal, reverse cymbal, and the unique analog Zap sound. Every instrument has dedicated controls for shaping its sound, so you’re not stuck menu-diving to get interesting results.

The built-in sequencer supports 64 patterns with up to 64 steps each, plus song mode, per-instrument swing and randomness, pattern looping, polyrhythms, and real-time performance controls. The two-mode Steiner-Parker filter is also great for taking the entire kit from clean and punchy to seriously nasty.

It’s especially cool in a hardware setup because you get individual audio outputs for the drum voices, along with mix output, MIDI, USB MIDI, multiple clock options, and both 1/4” and 3.5mm headphone outputs.

This is a great choice if you want a genuinely hands-on analog drum machine rather than another software controller. The sounds are punchy, weird, aggressive, and very much in the Arturia Brute family.
