1st year production Yamaha SG-2000, 1976 in a classic Tobacco Sunburst finish. This would become the flagship guitar by Yamaha Music Corp. This model was made in Japan in 1976 as one of the very first production SG-2000 runs and sports a Mahogy body with maple cap and laminated thru body neck. Note the larger headstock, common for early models, with the 5-digit serial number embossed in the headstock. Ebony fretboard, with split wing markers, frets ok, plenty of life remaining. Ample binding and brass hardware, including the Sustaining block under the bridge. Swinging in at about 4.3 kgs it’s not for the fainthearted but it has a clear, and distinctive tone from the original alnico V pickups. Guitar is in good condition and generally clean, and like most pre-1980 SG-2000, this guitar does not have coil tapping. Comes with case
