The Sequential Take 5 generates its authentic analog tone using SSI2130 VCO chips, which allow for smooth, continuous waveshaping between sine, sawtooth, and pulse waves on the front panel. Its sound is then sculpted by a 4-pole, 24 dB per octave low-pass analog filter powered by the SSI2140 chip, a modern and highly stable successor to the legendary vintage SSM2044 architecture. Shared with the Prophet-5 Rev 4, this self-oscillating filter includes a dedicated Drive circuit that adds warm harmonic saturation, allowing the synthesizer to easily transition from silky, smooth textures to aggressive, overdriven leads.
