This is an exceptionally clean, first-year 2012 Martin 00-DB Jeff Tweedy Custom Artist Edition, complete with its original Martin molded hardshell case.
The factory Artist Edition label was personally signed by Jeff Tweedy and numbered #144 in the production sequence. Martin serial number 1612840 confirms 2012 production.
This is the original-generation 00-DB, featuring the original FSC-certified Richlite fingerboard and bridge—not the recently introduced ebony-equipped reissue.
MY PERSONAL IMPRESSION
“When I first picked up this guitar, I was surprised by how light it felt and how naturally it settled into my arms. After looking it over and playing it, I realized it was an exceptional guitar in fantastic condition. For a smaller-bodied instrument, it produces remarkably full, beautiful and projecting tones. This is not merely a collectible—it is a real player’s guitar.” —Russell
ABOUT JEFF TWEEDY
Jeff Tweedy is the Grammy-winning singer, songwriter and guitarist best known as the founder and frontman of Wilco, and previously as a founding member of the influential alt-country band Uncle Tupelo. Widely respected for his songwriting and acoustic work, Tweedy collaborated directly with Martin to create this distinctive deep-bodied 00 Artist Edition.
A SMALL-BODY MARTIN WITH A FULL VOICE
The 00-DB combines the comfortable proportions of a smaller guitar with a body deeper than a conventional Martin 00. That additional air volume gives it greater warmth, low-end presence and projection without sacrificing the clarity and balance associated with smaller-bodied guitars.
Its solid mahogany top, back and sides produce a warm, woody and focused voice particularly well suited to fingerstyle, songwriting, folk, Americana, blues and acoustic accompaniment.

CONDITION
The guitar is in excellent condition and exceptionally clean for a 2012 instrument. There is one scratch on the upper-bout side, which is clearly shown in the photographs. Otherwise, both the guitar and its original case present remarkably well.
I was told that the guitar had one owner before I acquired it, although no separate ownership documentation accompanies it.
ABOUT MY GUITARS
I’m a guitar enthusiast and hobbyist, not a retail guitar business. I enjoy finding unusual and overlooked “Closet Classic” guitars. Every instrument is personally inspected, cleaned and detailed, checked for setup and playability, played and carefully photographed before being offered.
Buyers within reasonable traveling distance are welcome to see, handle and play the guitar in person before deciding.
