Steinberg Iconica Ensembles Orchestral Library for HALion (Activation Card)

Iconica Ensembles is a 45 GB orchestral library of ready made ensembles, recorded with the sample specialists at Orchestral Tools in the Funkhaus Berlin. Rather than handing you a hundred individual players to balance, it gives you more than 40 presets that are already balanced as sections, so a full string bed or a brass swell is one key away instead of an afternoon of mixing.

The recordings cover strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion. The string ensembles come as full, high, mid and low, the woodwinds as full, high and low, the brass as full and low, and the percussion includes marimba, glockenspiel and timpani, with harp recorded alongside them. Every sound sits in its correct orchestral position in the stereo field, because it was recorded in the seat it belongs in.

Each instrument was captured from several microphone positions, so you can move the whole ensemble from close and dry to the far reaches of the hall without reaching for a reverb. Presets carry different expressions and articulations on key switches, and the sustained material uses true legato with round robin repetitions so repeated notes do not sound machine gunned.

Please note: Iconica Ensembles is a sound library, not a standalone instrument. It requires either HALion Sonic 7, which Steinberg gives away free, or the full HALion 7. Neither is included in this box.
