1977 Fender Bronco made in the USA. These were made during an era where Fender was producing many short scale guitars such as the Musicmaster and Mustang. These Broncos shared the same scale length at 24 inches whereas a Stratocaster and Telecaster were 25.5. The difference was mainly the Tremolo unit on this model wasn't used on any other Fender and these had the 1 bridge pickup verses the Mustangs Bridge and Neck dual pickups. I do not have the tremolo arm, the unit is complete with a set screw that would hold it in place but the arm is missing.

The playability is great, no issues up and and down the fretboard and the action is very comfortable. The 24 inch scale certainly helps but it's also well set up with low action and no issues with fretting out. Speaking of which the frets are in great shape, they do show slight wear but nothing hindering playability and they shouldn't need any servicing for years to come. I took some photos of the frets without strings on so you could see them unobstructed. The guitar is completely original with 1 exception, the pickup. I cannot find a makers mark on this pickup but I believe it to be a Bill Lawerence L-250B. These are a single-coil-sized, noiseless twin-blade humbucking pickup designed specifically for the bridge position. As much as I like my vintage guitars original I am certain this was an upgrade over the stock single coil and it required no additional routing. It's a great sounding pickup. The rest of the electronics appear original. I cannot make out the numbers on the volume pot but the tone pot has a code of (1377704) this dates it to the 4th week of 1977. The headstock serial number is S700669 and a sticker serial number under the pickguard carries the same code- both dating it to 1977. Meaning at the end of January this guitar is 50 years old. Considering its age it's in good shape. Sure there is some haziness to the body finish in some spots as well as some dings and dents but it presents well. I recently dismantled the entire guitar and gave it a through cleaning, Music Nomad polish on the body and neck. The frets were polished and the rosewood board was oiled. The pots were sprayed with Deoxit D5 making them smooth and without issue. As said the frets are in good shape, as is the rest of the neck. It sights straight and true with a functional truss rod. Some small dings on the back and some wear around the headstock finish tip. The logo is vibrant and clear with some minor finish checking. It appears it left the Fender factory black but was maybe painted white first, I see some signs of white underneath. I have seen this with lots of Fenders and I have also seen this specifically with some Bronco models showing red under a factory black finish but the black is the original factory paint.

Comes with a non original hardcase. The case is actually pretty decent but possibly home made, I am really unsure. It's covered in a leather tolex, has metal corners, 2 latches etc. Definitely haven't seen another quite like it but it fits the guitar well.
