Embodme Erae 2 — Expressive MIDI Controller & Looper

Selling my Erae 2. Bought new, used only a handful of times, and kept in its hard cover and original box since. This is the complete package — original packaging, Embodme Hard Cover, the universal power adapter, a spare Drum Skin, and all cables.

Condition: Excellent

Barely used. No scratches, dents, or scuffs on the matte black frame, and no marks, stains, or dead zones anywhere on the playing surface. Everything functions exactly as it should — full sensitivity across the pad, all eight preset buttons, transport controls, the encoder and LCD screen, and MIDI in/out over both DIN and USB-C. Currently fitted with the stock Fabric Skin, which is clean and unworn. The Drum Skin is included separately and is unused.

Comes from a smoke-free, pet-free home studio, with all original packaging.

About the instrument

The Erae 2 is Embodme's second-generation expressive controller — a full-size, pressure-sensitive surface that turns touch, pressure, and gesture into genuinely expressive musical control. The entire pad responds to velocity, pressure, and aftertouch, from the lightest fingertip work to full stick playing, and the backlit surface reconfigures to whatever layout you build: keyboard, drum grid, faders, XY pads, or your own custom design.

Highlights:

  • Full MPE support for per-note pitch, pressure, and timbre control
  • 8-track built-in looper with control over duration, quantization, BPM, overdub, and overwrite
  • Configurable analogue CV and gate outputs — drive a modular rig directly, with the expressive detail intact from the performance you played in
  • Arpeggiator that responds to MPE gestures
  • LCD screen with rotary encoder and eight quick-access preset buttons
  • MIDI In/Out plus USB-C — works standalone with hardware or as a controller into your DAW

Designed in France by Embodme.

Two surfaces included

The stock Fabric Skin (fitted) is the thin 4mm pad built for fingertip play — soft, maximum sensitivity, gentle light diffusion for long sessions.

The Drum Skin (included, unused) is firm silicone with natural bounce-back, made for playing with sticks. Having both means you can switch the instrument between expressive fingertip control and a genuine drum surface in a couple of minutes, without buying a second pad.

Included

  • Embodme Erae 2
  • Original box and packaging
  • Embodme Hard Cover — polycarbonate, $54 new
  • Embodme 65W universal power adapter — $34 new, 100–240V, with US, EU, UK, CN and JP plug heads
  • Fabric Skin (fitted)
  • Drum Skin — $59 new, unused
  • microSD card
  • USB-C cable
  • MIDI adapter cables

The power adapter is universal 100–240V and includes the full set of plug heads, so it's ready to use anywhere. The Erae 2 also charges over USB-C, so any standard USB-C PD charger will run it.

Why I'm selling

Simply not getting the use out of it that it deserves. It's a remarkable instrument and it should be with someone who'll play it.

The Erae 2 is $899 direct from Embodme and $999 from US dealers, with accessories shipping from France on roughly a one-week lead time. This is everything, boxed and ready to go. Carefully packed and shipped promptly.
