AKG C5600 Studio/Live (Touring C414B) LDC

AKG C5600 ‘Tri-Power’ large diaphragm studio/live microphone in excellent condition. These were designed by AKG to have the ‘studio sound’ of the legendary C414B in a touring configuration.

Included is original AKG hard-shell carrying case and factory paperwork including owners instructions.

This AKG C5600 microphone, like new, works perfectly and sounds great.

“The quest for higher sound quality at pop concerts brought more sophisticated studio gear on stage. The AKG C 414, an all-out studio microphone, became the first choice for overheads, toms, brass, and grand pianos.

"Therefore, AKG created the C 5600, which provides a similar sound quality as the C 414 in an incredibly rugged housing, i.e., road-tough large-diaphragm technology.

Used in non-smoking church/studio environment, never used on the road.

“The 5600 shares sonic DNA with a C414 but its not a dead ringer. It's not a overly bright mic. It has the nylon ring capsule. To my ears it's closet relative in the 414 range sound wise is later run versions of 414 EB. It's a quality microphone.”

“A 'poor man's version' of the earlier famous studio microphones that can be used for many purposes: electric guitar, vocals, voice over, piano, overheads, wind instruments, bass and drums: in short, a great all-rounder.

Unfortunately the AKG 'TRIPOWER' series never really broke through and production ended for this range of triangular designed models. 
That is unfortunate because this sturdy condenser microphone is really worthwhile and stands its ground, both in the studio and on stage. 
Luckily they surface occasionally, on the second hand market; anyone who finds one is really fortunate.”
