The Gibson Les Paul Special Double Cutaway brings one of Gibson’s classic solidbody designs back to the core lineup, combining straightforward construction, dual P-90 power, and easy upper-fret access. The Les Paul Special first appeared in 1955, with the double-cutaway version arriving in 1958. This modern version draws on that heritage with a double-cutaway mahogany body and a Slim Taper mahogany neck designed for comfortable access across the full fingerboard.
The bound rosewood fingerboard features acrylic dot inlays and 22 medium jumbo frets, while a Graph Tech nut and Gibson Deluxe tuners with white buttons provide dependable tuning stability. A simple wraparound bridge anchors directly into the mahogany body for a direct, resonant design with classic Les Paul Special character.
At the heart of the guitar are two Gibson Soapbar P-90 pickups, each hand-wired to its own volume and tone controls. Orange Drop capacitors complete the traditional control circuit, giving players the distinctive clarity, bite, and midrange presence associated with a great pair of P-90s. Finished in classic TV Yellow and supplied with a hardshell case, the Les Paul Special Double Cutaway keeps the formula focused and functional.
