Latin Percussion's Pro Shekere brings the classic African shekere sound into a durable, road-ready package. Built with LP artist Roger Squitero, the LP483 pairs a white fiberglass body with a hand-strung lattice of Jenigor plastic beads (here in a striking red and black pattern), giving you the free-moving bead action of a traditional gourd shekere without the fragility.
The thick neck and wide mouth are built for deep bass tones when the bottom is struck with the palm, while shaking or twisting produces the classic bright, high-pitched shaker/rattle voice — so you get shaker, rattle, and hand-drum tones out of one instrument. A protective rubber ring around the mouth helps guard against chips from stage or studio use.
