Personal Thoughts:
This is a particularly attractive Slash Collection Les Paul, with the November Burst finish giving the figured maple top a rich, darker vintage character. The deep amber and brown tones suit the model perfectly, and paired with the rosewood fingerboard and nickel hardware it has a very traditional late-’50s-inspired appearance.
The Slash specification also makes it a little more purposeful than a standard Les Paul. The Slash Custom C neck has a substantial but comfortable feel, while the pair of Alnico II Custom Burstbuckers deliver the warm, vocal and slightly softer attack that suits classic rock and lead playing particularly well. There is plenty of midrange push and sustain without the pickups becoming overly compressed or harsh.
A great example of Gibson taking the traditional Les Paul Standard formula and refining it around a very specific playing style. It has all the familiar weight, sustain and authority of a good Les Paul, but with a neck and pickup set that make it especially well suited to expressive lead work and classic high-gain tones.
Condition Report:
Mint condition. Presents exceptionally well overall, with no noteworthy marks, fret wear or signs of use to mention. Supplied with its original Gibson hardshell case and associated documentation.
