Here is our shop D-41, a beautiful beautiful guitar!

This isn't no mantelpiece, corner-room-piece statuette, by anyones imagination, however, considering the age of 55 years its still pretty nice shape, and believe me, it was hard won!

There are maintenance repairs and slight modifications done to a reasonably good standard, these include:

- re-fret

- nut shimmed (to clear taller, newer frets)

- bridge shaved (to allow more adjustment room on the saddle, not my idea)

- new saddle

Otherwise appears original, original saddle is present.

Being an earlier piece, made only a couple of years after Martin introduced this model, it has a graceful air of superiority about it! This isn't imaginary, the material quality and expertise available and used on this guitar is very distinctive, and makes this a completely different animal to the later versions.

Factored into the asking price is the option for full restoration which includes tidying up previous work which was not done here, possibly resetting the neck and capping/replacing the bridge to restore originality, as per buyers preference and budget.

The current action is okay for flat-picking styles set medium, there is adjustment room on the saddle to get the action down, I would say the minimum setup would be in the region of 2.7mm if taking to the limit, again for the year this is very respectable.
