The Strandberg Boden Essential 6 in Sage Leaf is the most affordable .strandberg* instrument to date — a true .strandberg* with all the key features that made it an electric guitar icon of the 21st century, now available to musicians of all stripes. The Boden Essential embodies the lightweight, ergonomic body shape and perfect balance that define .strandberg* guitars, featuring the patented EndurNeck profile, .strandberg* EGS Arc hardware, and a unique sonic character that is balanced and versatile. Unlike the multi-scale models, the Essential 6 uses a simplified straight 25.5" scale length with conventional fret placement, helping new .strandberg* players get to work without the learning curve of fanned frets — while its light 5-pound-plus weight and balanced ergonomics make it effortless to hold and play in any position. Crafted by skilled luthiers at Strandberg's PT Cort factory, it's designed to cater to aspiring students and professional musicians alike.

Key elements of its design:

• Lightweight Headless Ergonomics True to the .strandberg* heritage, the Boden Essential is a lightweight headless electric guitar with acclaimed ergonomic features to keep you playing longer without fatigue. The reduced weight is easy on your shoulders and back, and the design keeps the instrument perfectly balanced in both sitting and standing positions.
• Patented EndurNeck Profile The patented EndurNeck keeps your fretting hand and wrist in a more natural position up and down the neck, reducing strain for effortless technique. The roasted maple neck returns with a durable, stable one-piece design.
• EGS Arc Fixed Bridge The all-new EGS Arc cast-zinc fixed bridge with integrated tuning makes string changes and fine adjustments easier than ever, offering convenience without compromising features.
• Versatile OEM Humbuckers The guitar features a set of .strandberg*-designed custom OEM humbuckers (made by PSE to Strandberg's exact specifications, with Alnico 5 magnets). A unique 5-way switching system provides both single-coil and humbucker tones, delivering hugely usable, versatile sounds — from crystalline cleans to full-on metal — at each position, including two with coil-split options.
• Solid Meranti Body The solid Meranti body — a tonewood similar to mahogany — with arm and torso carves provides a balanced, flexible sound that readily adapts to different playing styles, much like the basswood used in pricier models, and is surprisingly lively and resonant even unplugged.
• Gig-Ready Details Clever additions aid the gigging player, including a rear/side-mounted jack and glow-in-the-dark side dots that are seriously bright under low light, plus a durable double-action steel truss rod and black hardware throughout.

Reviewing it, Guitar.com was hugely impressed by what the two humbuckers offer — finding hugely usable and versatile tones at each of the five positions, whether played clean or going full-on metal — and concluded that from the outset it's immediately apparent the Boden Essential 6 isn't your grandpa's headless guitar, but an innovative modern instrument that prioritises functionality above all and delivers in spades.
