Smaller than its predecessors like the Jazzmaster, the Mustang was a heavyweight in the student-priced realm and offered a playing experience that's been coveted for years thanks to the pair of single-coils and iconic offset design. One of the coolest CBS era offset models, the Competition Mustangs were only offered from 1969 until 1973.
This rare Fender Japan 1973 Reissue Competition Mustang in Fiesta Red is a tribute to the iconic 1970s Mustang design, combining vintage aesthetics with Japanese precision craftsmanship. Featuring the compact offset body, dynamic vibrato bridge, matching headstock and distinctive vintage white racing stripe, it delivers punchy tones from its single-coil pickups, making it perfect for indie, rock, and alternative players.
Setup with a new set of Hybrid Slinkys this 2012 model is in superb condition and comes complete with a Mustang size hard case. Also included is a 2nd, white tipped, tremolo arm if you prefer the alternative longer tremolo arm.
