Up for sale, a 1971 Fender Precision Bass in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. A soulful vintage example that’s 100% original save for a clean refret and modern CTS pots, this P Bass has a smooth, balanced natural acoustic response, weighing 8lbs 6oz.

The original gray bobbin split-coil pickup dishes out plenty of rich bass register thump and treble growl, particularly round and broad with the Tone knob rolled back. This Precision Bass benefits from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, easy-playing action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss three-tone Sunburst finish exhibits tight checking, faded to a “2.5 burst” on top, while more of the central red ring is retained on the back. There’s buckle rash on the back and various dings and finish chips consistent with use. The maple on the neck carve has some uncommon flame figuring along its length, with a few shallow marks worn smooth through play.

The original hardshell case is included. The case features functional latches, the original handle and raised “no logo” Fender badge on the case lid.
