The Black Lion Audio Auteur Quad2 is a versatile 4-channel mic, line, and DI preamp that blends vintage warmth with modern precision. Featuring a transparent, fast-responding American-style IC input stage and a fat, colorful British-inspired output stage driven by U.S.-made Cinemag transformers, it delivers both clarity and character. This unique hybrid design makes it a go-to choice for engineers who want pristine detail with added sonic weight. It's perfect for drums, vocals, and any source that demands both punch and polish!
Built for real-world studio work, the Auteur Quad2 offers independent +48V phantom power, polarity reverse, and a -10dB pad on every channel, along with front-panel DI inputs and rear-panel XLR and TRS connections for maximum flexibility. Upgrades from the original include increased gain, new analog VU meters, and improved instrument/line inputs. Housed in a rugged brushed aluminum chassis and loaded with premium Nichicon and Vishay components, the Auteur Quad2 captures the essence of Black Lion’s “Chicago-style” sound - combining the speed of American preamps with the warmth of British tone - all in one durable, high-value rackmount unit.
