This is an absolutely wonderful 70s style Fender Stratocaster that was a bit of a rescue project for us. This is a genuine Fender neck and body that were both part of a project that had long been abandoned. In lieu of parting them out we decided to finish the project as they made a great pair! The build quality here is about on par with a Fender Vintera series Stratocaster but with a few more high end parts!
For the most part this entire build is genuine Fender parts with the exception of the string tree, strap buttons, input jack plate, as well as the pickguard and trem cavity cover.
The neck is an Ensenada Mexico factory neck in a 70s style with a rosewood fretboard that is no longer offered. These options are now only available through the US factory and are much more expensive nowadays, this would've been a 400-600 dollar neck. The body is also from the Ensenada factory and are still available for about 400 dollars completely unloaded with no hardware.
The tuning machines are the classic Fender 70s F style tuners and are brand new, the bridge is brand new and is a Fender narrow vintage style with a hefty tone block that helps this guitar resonate a ton. The pickups are Fender Custom Shop Texas Specials and they sound wonderful! The electronics are a nice set of Allparts potentiometers and a 5 way switch, all of which work flawlessly. The neck is straight and the truss rod adjusts smoothly. The neck has been oiled and cleaned as well. We've also gone ahead and insulated the entire electronics cavity to help eliminate noise.
Like we said this was a rescue project that someone with less experience attempted to tackle and we had to fix some mistakes so there is some minor cosmetic damage here and there. A couple small holes around the bridge on the front of the body as well as a couple minor dings on the sides and back. Nothing that can be seen at a distance though and are generally only noticable under a glare since this is a gloss black guitar. The neck also has some minor blemishing as well, some gouges on the feet board from the 1st to the 5th fret though nothing that affects playability or feel. There are also a couple alignment holes on the back of the headstock underneath the high E tuning machine where someone attempted to install some tunners incorrectly. Luckily they stopped after those so there's no more of them.
This is an absolutely killer guitar that's ready to see some gigs. If you want something a little more unique that's still a high end Fender through and through this is your axe.
Also includes a nice high end gig bag.
