Manufacturers Description

The Shawn Tubbs Tilt Overdrive is the tonal culmination of a lifetime in music. Shawn not only needed a practical tone tool to give him the right sound quickly in any musical context, he aimed to combine the greatest vintage amp tones and recorded guitar sounds of all time into one ideal sound. Now that tone is available to you in an award-winning compact 9v double pedal with a unique Tilt Boost.

the boost

Shaping your guitar's sound at the source is very powerful, & the most common adjustments guitarists need to make are to the overall brightness & level of a tone. The clarity added here will translate organically throughout your entire setup while only having to adjust the Boost circuit. Of course, it also makes for an excellent solo boost, high gain tightener, & more.

the drive

Shawn wanted a balanced Drive sound that could be set in a wide variety of ways but always retained a core character. To Shawn, that was all about the mids: a preset fat but tight lower-mid sound that he's found to work on albums & refers to as "4x12 in a box." This means you can set the Gain to fit the situation & Treble to fit your amp & know you'll always have the right sound.

workflow

The Boost's EQ is about 'neutral' at 2:00. Turning left increases treble while decreasing bass. The Tight switch adjusts low end independent of the Tilt knob. The Drive circuit can go from nearly clean to quite distorted (balancing Gain & Volume unlocks many sounds!). After setting your favorite Drive sound, the Boost can easily adjust for guitar changes or be a 2nd gain stage.

the guitar amp's greatest hits

The Tilt Overdrive is not based on any specific amp. Shawn has found that his favorite guitar tones are cranked single-channel amps: both vintage classics & rare boutique models. The touch-sensitivity & power amp engagement is important to a record-ready sound. So we developed a 'best-of-all-worlds' combination of those tones & distilled that organic vibe into one pedal.
