A RARE find!
Honeyboy Amps were made by Andy “Honeyboy” Smith, a Scottish harmonica player and amplifier designer.
The company’s name and branding come from Andy’s stage name, “Honeyboy,” and his approach to making amps that are “tweed on the inside, reptilian on the outside” — referring to the unique vinyl finishes he offers alongside traditional tweed.
Honeyboy Amps were custom-built to order, with finger-jointed cabinets made from American white oak and other hardwoods, and finishes chosen by the customer from a range of vinyl styles, including crocodile, snake skin, and western leather. This one is a very cool green "snake skin".
Handwired 5 watt Harmonica amp. (guitar ok too). Tube rectifier. Tung sol 6V6 power tube. JJ ecc82 (au7) pre amp tube. With “phase switch”. With 1/4” line out. New Jensen P10R 8 ohm speaker. And, yes, the amp is a 120V US/Canada power plug.
