Rukavina 6 String Ripple Lap Steel -- 25" Curly Maple

25" scale length one-piece, solid body lapsteel made from richly figured maple. Features a wenge fingerboard with maple fret lines and purfling, wenge binding, and holly position dots. The pickup is height-adjustable and is made, wound, and wax vacuum-potted in house, and the bobbin is topped with a maple/wenge/maple ply and is wound to about 14Kohm resistance and uses 1/4" Alnico 5 magnet polepieces. Features lightly aged Grover 18:1 tuning machines in nickel. Uses an unbleached bison bone nut with 1.875" string spacing. The wrap-around bridge is made from a Mokume-Gane billet (forge welded plies of nickel and copper, patinaed in acid) and it has a total string spacing of 2.1", and it features a patinaed brass saddle. The controls knobs are standard master volume and hi roll off tone controls, using 500K CTS pots and a .022uF mustard capacitor. The knurled knobs are nickel plated brass. The control cavity is shielded in copper, and the bridge is properly grounded to the electronics. Finished in hand rubbed Clean Armor satin poly finish -- akin to a Tru Oil finish in appearance (for reference) *but it is harder and clearer, and it is not prone to fingerprints or requiring polishing. Feels great to handle and is heat branded with my "r" logo and signed/dated within the control cavity. Weighs in at ~6lbs. This one comes strung with GHS strings in Emaj/EBEG#BE(58-14) and the nut will accommodate typical gauges of your choice. Ships with a robust, snug fitting gig bag, and I ship using double walled boxes.
